Lazy Sunday

...Church, starbucks, laid around watching football all day, finally got up to work out [right when it looked like the Eagles would win] then came back to cook dinner and watched "Things we lsot in the fire" [Good Movie!]...pretty full day!

STILL can't believe that it's over!

I miss my Pops! Every now and again I get down about him being gone and I stay in a detached state for a couple of hours.  The other day I was thinking about him when this line from "Get Over" off Tha Carter II kept playing in my head...

"...nothing amounts to me not having my father! I know a lot of yall got em but you need em WAY more when you gotta go without em!"

Just having that being repeated in my head was like a wall being knocked down and all these emotions just came front and center! So I put the song on repeat and just let it ride....over and over again. Even as I write this I'm just letting it ride.  No accomplishments, no rewards, no painkillers are strong enough to take this pain away!!

Imagine having the person that you talk to everyday, the person that you go to for ANYTHING suddenly just being taken from you! It makes you live life so differently. I realized before that I- I don't know what I was doing!! Now I live like the present moment is my last moment.  Everything that he use to tell me I try to remember but I can never remember enough.  I still hear his voice talking to me...[Mind flooded with memories!] I'm gone!

Bringing in the New Year!

What happened last night?!

Today was a recovery day! Woke up to a slight hangover so I went to the store and grabbed some "revive" vitamin water for everybody... that stuff is AMAZING for hangovers.  The rest of the day I just kicked it in the apt with the Wifey.  She ended up with a HUGE blister on her toe

 Watched "Horton Hears a Who"...

And then tried to figure out how I was going to frame my Obama "Time" cover...

Hit up Vanessa's for dinner...homemade soup cornbread and black-eyed peas!! It was simple but it was sooo good! Recapped the New Year festivities and watched a few episodes of Entourage before heading back to the crib.

So I had to head back to work today. Fridays are relatively easy though, mostly paperwork and getting things ready for the following week. Its been empty here the past couple weeks. Most people took off after Christmas and wont be back until Monday. Plans for the weekend...I think the wifey and I are going to hit up a basketball game at here alma mater [Southwestern University] and then just chill for the rest of the day. My moms is suppose to come down with my older brother and his fam to this weekend so HOPEFULLY we'll be doing the FAMILY thing all weekend...

P.S. Thank God for the person who came up with the dollar menu at Mickey D's!! Lunch for $3.25?! I'm all for it!
